Josephy Kamwendo Hangs Boots

Former Flames international midfielder, Joseph Kamwendo, who has lately been game-starved at Be Forward Wanderers, says he is hanging his boots from active football.

There are traces of frustrations in the tone of his message.

Kamwendo told Zodiak Online that he is calling it quits with active football to pave way for younger players who are being fused into the Be Forward Wanderers fold.

This is clearly coming when he has been missing on several crucial fixture games.

Kamwendo, 34, came into the limelight in the early 2000s and was part of the Flames’ squad that played at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola, which was Malawi’s first appearance at the continental showpiece after twenty-six years.

Kamwendo is an assistant coach at the Walter Nyamilandu Academy.
