'Get People Move Upland'

A Development planner and Humanitarian expert says people in flood prone areas can relocate upland if authorities adopt hybrid solutions to clearly understand and respond, based on the people’s needs.

Dr. Bob Alexander from United States of America told Zodiak in an interview on Tuesday that time has come to encourage people to settle upland permanently.

Chikwawa Disaster Officer Francis Kadzokoya has admitted that most people especially from the islands of Chikuse, Mazongoza and Chaphanda are still resisting to relocate despite incentives to move them to upper areas.
