Defilement, Molestation Rampant in Schools-MHRC

The Malawi Human Rights Commission MHRC says defilement and child molestation cases remain a challenge in the country especially in schools.

Speaking in Mzimba on Monday during discussions on child rights MHRC Deputy Director of child rights Priscilla Thawe says Malawi continues to register a lot of cases of girls being defiled by teachers or relatives.

Meanwhile Chief Child development officer in the ministry of gender, children, disability and social welfare Harry Satumba says government is intensifying campaigns aimed at protecting children.
