Ombudsman Suggests Restructuring Police

Ombudsman, Martha Chizuma, has added her voice to calls for the restructuring of the Malawi Police Service triggered by the collapsing relationship between the law enforcement agency and the general public.

Chizuma, who is also one of Commissioners for the Malawi Human Rights Commission, insists that in recent times, the police has lost public trust a situation that beacons a quick intervention.

But spokesperson of the police, James Kadadzela, says there is no cause for worry as the police is already working on strengthening relations with the public.
