Gawa for Life Cover for Chiefs
King of the Chewa people in Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia, Kalonga Gawa Undi, has asked the government of Malawi to consider footing life cover or pension for traditional leaders.
Gawa said this through his Chief, Lukwa of Kasungu, who conveyed the message from the Zambia-based Chewa king during funeral of TA Nyaza of Kasungu.
The Chewa king, Lukwa said, is worried with the plight of bereaved royal family members, who have been suffering the death of chiefs.
