This morning in Dowa district, more and more villagers flocked to Nachisaka EPA where they are coming to return relief maize received yesterday because it has been discovered to be discolored, rotten and in some instances mixed with maize husks, according to the villagers.
The National Organization of Nurses and Midwives in Malawi says its’ fact finding exercise has established that a recent attack on the nursing officer, Chriford Semu, was unfounded and unwarranted as he attended to the expectant woman, in subject, within his scope of practice.
An accountability and transparency organization says it will embark on an exercise to follow how public funds were used in projects and programs funded by international bodies.
Authorities in Dowa have suspended all mining and exploration activities that are currently taking place in the district until proper procedures are followed.
There are disturbing reports coming from the areas of Traditional Authorities Dzoole and Kayembe in Dowa where people are said to have been severely hit by food shortage.
