Traditional leaders in Nsanje’s most flood prone areas have vowed to push their subjects to move away from disaster prone areas ahead of imminent floods this rainy season as projected by weather experts.

The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services says in the next few weeks, southern region will experience a decline in rainfall due to a movement of the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) systems towards the central and northern region of the country.

The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services has warned that most of southern areas of the country are likely to experience heavy widespread rains associated with thunderstorms,   strong winds and fog.
