Special Report: Plight of Children With Albinism
There are misconceptions about children with albinism in this country. Some very well known. But the effects of these misconceptions are often obscured or outright ignored. Meanwhile, the life of children with albinism continues to be a nightmare in this country.
In this special report read by Daniel Mababa, Alinafe Mlamba, tells the story of how these children and their parents or guardians face humiliation, dejection, discrimination and shame from communities.
And in the absence of accessible psychosocial support, some of these people have actually withdrawn from public life and social circles. They live like slaves in their own country.
