Gaba Leading PSL Scorers Chart
The Flames attacker Gabadhno Mhango produced a superb performance on Wednesday at Orlando Stadium as he helped Orlando Pirates to a 1 nil win over Mamelodi Sundowns.
Gaba slotted home from 13 yards against the Brazilians just after half-an-hour mark with a delightful clipped shot when he outpaced the defence to give the home team the lead following a great inter-play inside Sundowns’ half, Vincent Pule teed up Luvuyo Memela, who prosed the visitors’ defence with a delightful through ball that found a loose Mhango, who calmly slotted past Denis Onyango for his 11th of the season in 15 league matches.
The forward proved that as a striker he doesn’t need too many chances to make the difference, punishing Sundowns’ defence as Buccaneers went into half time with the lead.
He now leads the PSL scoring chart with 11 goals.
Pirates remain sixth on the log standings with 27 points, while the Brazilians, who are second on the standings, suffered yet another blow in their title defence as they failed to close the gap on the league leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
