Blue Eagles Sign 'Deco' Nyemera

TNM Super League outfit Blue Eagles FC have completed the signing of former Silver Strikers and Mzuzu Warriors FC (formerly Mzuni FC) midfielder Lazarus ‘Deco’ Nyemera as a free agent and tied him to a 2 year contract.

Nyemera who was among the 17 players who were shown the exit door at Silver Strikers has become the second signing for the area 30 outfit following the arrival of Mphatso Philemon who was also among the players chased at the bankers.

Confirming the development Blue Eagles FC chairman Alexander Ngwala said: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Lazarus Nyemera who was a free agent and he will be with the Eagles for at least 2 years and then will see after that.

“Nyemera is a good addition to the squad and we hope he will jell with the others as quickly as possible, we have been checking his progress while at Silver that’s why we took advantage of the situation and sign him immediately of course with the endorsement of the technical panel.

“We really needed to bring a proven performer in our ranks especially a midfielder.Since Gregory Nachipo left, I think we really needed a player of his calibre,” Ngwala said.

Meanwhile Ngwala hinted on new additions to the squad but said that will depend on the recommendation from the technical panel.

“I cannot officially say we will sign more players or not because normally we wait for the coach and his backroom staff to tell us if they want someone then we go for that player.

“In this case if the coach says he is satisfied with the squad then that’s the team you will see in 2020 as Blue Eagles and if he says otherwise then you will see as making an official announcement,” Ngwala said.

2020 football season will commerce on 14 March with the EcoBank Charity Shield which will involve TNM Super League champions Nyasa Big Bullets, FISD Challenge Cup winners Blue Eagles FC, Airtel top 8 champions Silver Strikers and super league runners up Mighty Be-Forward Wanderers.
