Silver Promote 7 Players From Reserve Side

Silver Strikers FC has officially announced that it has promoted 7 players from the reserve side to the senior team.

The 7 were part of the reserve side that finished 3rd in the 2019 Chipiku Central Region league and will be training with the senior team for further assessment programs.

According to Silver Strikers statement released on 5 March the 7 players are: Flames Under20 stars Frank Chizuze, Chinsinsi Maonga and Innocent Shema, left winger Zebron Kalima, central midfielder Philip Banda, left back Horace Mchoma and center back Maxwel Paipi.

Silver Strikers communication manager David Daniel Dauda says this is part of the rebuilding exercise and people should expect more changes to follow at the club.

“We are still in the rebuilding period and this is part of it, a lot has been said about us turning professional and I think promoting such players from the reserve side is a step forward in a bid to commercialize the club.

“The coach wants player’ that will fit into his style of play and these boys have so far demonstrated that they can perform at the top level and fight for places with the senior players.

“Giving them a chance was the right choice and we believe that whatever we have done today will only elevate the team to greater heights,” Dauda said.

Silver will kick off its 2020 football season with the EcoBank Charity Shield scheduled for 14th and 15th March 2020.
