Blue Eagles FC has reported Mighty Be-forward Wanderers to SULOM and FAM for player tapping after the Lali Lubani Boys signed midfielder Vitumbiko Kumwenda as a free agent.

According to Blue Eagles general secretary William Nkhoma, Kumwenda is still contracted to the area 30 outfit hence lodging a complaint to the football authorities.

Meanwhile the Nomads say they followed the right procedure to sign the player after he tendered in his resignation at Blue Eagles a week ago.

The transfer of the midfielder from the area 30 outfit Blue Eagles to Blantyre based Mighty Be-Forward wanderers seem to have been concluded after the Lali Lubani boys officially announced the arrival of the midfielder through the club’s social media platforms on Tuesday.

Kumwenda had earlier submitted his resignation letter to Blue eagles having not being fully convinced that his move the Nomadz had fail through at the eleventh hour.

The player took it upon himself to trigger a clause in his contract that says he can terminate the contract upon giving notice of one month or pay an amount equal to his one month benefits which he did through mobile money.

Zodiak has information that Kumwenda put pen to paper on a 3 year contract last week at Wanderers club house in Blantyre only to be unveiled on Tuesday.

However the story seem to have taken another twist as Blue Eagles FC General Secretary William Nkhoma insist Kumwenda still has a running contract which will expire in December this year hence lodging a complaint to the football authorities.

“We’ve just seen this development on social media and we were surprised because Vitu is still contracted to us and his contract runs until December.

“Wanderers is playing dirty and we know how to deal with this issue. We’ve already written SULOM and FAM on the same and we hope they act on the matter.

“It doesn’t make sense for a player to just quit like that, I mean what kind of a club would put such a clause in player’s contract without knowing the consequences? We will surely seek legal interpretation and see how we can approach this issue at hand.

Meanwhile Be-Forward Wanderers General Secretary Victor says they’ve acquired the player as a free agent after following proper procedure.

“This transfer is done and dusted I don’t see the reason I should be talking about Blue Eagles right now, if they have issues with us let them come rather than talking through the media.

“In the first place we were dealing with them but we failed to reach an agreement, we took advantage of the situation (Vitumbiko resigning as Blue Eagles player) and signed him. I don’t think there is any problem with that.” Maunde said.

Kumwenda was instrumental in blue Eagles’ run to the 2019 Fisd Challenge cup glory and was also included in their 2020 football season final squad.
