Football Association of Malawi says it will embark on a fresh stadia inspection following a proposed change of football calendar.

FAM Club Licencing and Compliance Manager Casper Jangale say this will be done in a bid to certify stadia that will be able to host football matches under strict guidelines of COVID19.

Jangale said this was necessary as they are waiting for governments' response on the resumption of sports activities in the country.

"We are yet to get a go-ahead from relevant authorities but it's only normal for us to start preparing for the resumption of football.

"The first inspection was indeed done but we know that if we are to get the green light from government then obviously there are some stadiums that will not be fit to host matches due to a number of factors.

"Some of them do not have the minimum requirements to host a football match during this period of COVID 19 so we need to check and certify only those facilities that will be capable of hosting football matches," said Jangale.

The FA changed its calendar which was running from April to December to August through to May.
