The two tussling political alliances ahead of the fresh presidential election faced-off Wednesday in a campaign that saw them hold rallies at venues close enough to spark the tension that ensued.

It is highly likely that the fresh presidential election coming in Malawi will be conducted in the absence of international observers. Even the Malawi Electoral Commission-MEC-is yet to send out invitations as has been the tradition.

As the race against time for the Malawi Electoral Commission to organize a fresh presidential poll continues, a local political and governance think tank, Political Science Association (PSA) has asked the remaining MEC commissioners to immediately follow out their chairperson Justice Dr. Jane Ansah.
