Malawi’s newly elected President, Reverend Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has described the country’s freedom from colonialism and one party system as of no use if the citizens still languish in poverty, tribalism, corruption and other vices.

At a media briefing monday night MEC Chair Dr. Kachale said the commission is treating the historic fresh presidential election today with all seriousness to regain public trust.
