BB Defends Charity Shield; Queens Win

Nyasa Big Bullets have retained the FAM Charity Shield championship for a third time after defeating Silver Strikers by three goals to nil at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.

In a third place play-off Kamuzu Barracks beat Be Forward by a goal to nil.

Bullets have been the champions since the shield was introduced three seasons ago.

Chiukepo Msowoya scored a brace and Precious Phiri a single goal for Bullets to defend the shield.

The money raised will be used towards helping Ekwendeni School for the Blind.

Elsewhere, the Malawi Queens will face Wales and Scotland in the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth games on Wednesday.

They are coming from their first win of the tournament when they beat Silver Ferns of New Zealand 57-53 on Sunday.

The Queens lost their game against England Friday and later went down to Uganda on Saturday.
