French-based Malawi women football icon Tabitha Chawinga on Thursday had a rare opportunity to pose for a picture with legendary English footballer David Beckham. 

Posting the picture on her Facebook page, the Scorchers skipper was thrilled, writing: "Guess who I met today on our new kit launch? The boss David Beckham."

The Paris Saint-Germain Féminine forward was also clever enough to use the Beckham 'brand' to garner votes.

"Keep voting for your girl Tabitha Chawinga in the EA Sports Team of the Year '24," she wrote.

Beckham once played for PSG and was the English Football team captain for six years, earning 58 caps during his tenure.

Recently, Tabitha has rose to second position on the scorers’ chart and assists in the French Women’s First Division.

The Scorchers captain scored her seventh league goal as her club defeated LOSC 6-0, just one behind Ada Hegerberg of Lyon FC.
