Through the program, girls have been equipped with relevant skills to enable them make informed decisions about their lives to reduce school dropout rates, early pregnancies, and early marriages.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony Senior Chief Kachindamoto encouraged the girls to focus on their studies so that they can complete their education and be independent in future.

"This training will help the girls to make informed decisions about their lives, working hard to complete their education and be independent in future," said Kachindamoto

Senior Chief Kachondamoto has also asked girls and women in the country to work hard saying the days of asking for money from men are long gone hence the need for ladies to venture into small-scale businesses and hustle hard to make their own money.

"Women should not feel ashamed of their hustle as long as they are making clean money without relying on begging from anyone or sleeping with men to get money," said Kachindamoto

Chief Education Officer for Dedza Mr. Julius Kamwaza has commended MAGGA for training the girls and he also pleaded with the girls to prioritize their education and avoid being carried away by men who entice them with money.

"The safe space mentorship programme is good, girls have been trained on survival skills, sanitation, education and this will help girls to remain in school and complete their education," said Kamwaza.

Malawi Girl Guides Association has also empowered the girls with knowledge and skills to fight early and forced marriages and information on sexual reproductive health and sexual rights to enable them make healthy choices.
