The solar-powered pipe water project which is to a tune of 109 Million Kwacha was commissioned on Thursday.
Country Director, Nixon Sinyiza says the organization has installed ten water points across the village and surrounding areas to ease water problems the community was facing.
"We received a call for help to install pipe water in this village and after assessment we so the community had only two boreholes against a population of close to 4000 people," said Sinyiza.
He says the organization is excited to be part of the solution to the people's water challenges in the area.
Kasungu District Council Chairperson, John Tomoka says access to safe drinking water remains a challenge in most parts of the district.
He observed that the project is a huge relief to the council. "In the council's development plan, access to safe water is a number one priority because in many areas people are drinking from unprotected water sources."
Chief Santhe of the area is optimistic that water-borne diseases will be history owing to the pipe water supply.
Water Mission has trained committees that are managing the operations of the pump.
