Zalewa Roadblock Police Intercept Charcoal
Police at Zalewa roadblock in Neno have intercepted a truck loaded with forest products (charcoal) without permit.
According to Neno police publicist, Austin Kamwendo, the van, which was being driven by Kelly Gondwe, aged 42-years, was coming from South Africa with the charcoal bags, 100 in total mixed with other goods destined for Nchalo Illovo Sugar company.
The truck belongs to MKA Trucking company from South Africa and bears registration number VXV 904 GP.
The suspect who hails from Chitimba village in the area of Traditional Authority Mwamulowe in Karonga district, will appear in court soon to answer the charges of being found in possession of forestry products without license.
