Maranatha Academy says it is set to award about 13 students who did extremely well during the 2022 – 2023 Malawi Schools Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations.

Managing director for the academy, Ernest Kaonga, says the award ceremony has been slated for 31 August, 2023 at the Bingu International Conventional Centre in Lilongwe.

“The event is to complement what president Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Madame Monica Chakwera tout to promote quality education in the country.

“We will recognize and award outstanding boys and girls from both public and private secondary schools who have an aggregate of 6 to 9 points,” said Kaonga.

Vitumbiko Kaunda from Mtendele Secondary School who scored 6 points is set to go home with K1 million.

Other students to be awarded are Arnold Nyasulu from Robert Laws Secondary School who scored 7 points, Praise Kabaghe and Hastings Kumwenda from Maranatha Boys Academy for scoring 8 points.

"We will also recognize 9 girls from public and private institutions who were outstanding having attained 9 points," he said.
