MUST Wins Again at Regional Cyber Challenge

A Computer Systems and Security team, Cyber Knights at the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) has once again emerged champions at a Southern Africa regional cyber security competition involving universities in the region at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.

MUST Communications Manager, James Mphande told Zodiak Online on Saturday evening that 'this is the third consecutive time the university's team has won the competition".

The competition started on 18 to 19 August 2023.

MUST Cyber Knights has won the  regional Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge against 12 other teams from South African, Botswana, Swaziland and Namibia universities.

Mphande said the team comprised the fourth and third year students Alex Imani, Craig Mdokhwe, Max Mkutumula and Maudy Chibanda at the challenge.

The competition was organized by the Atlantic Council from the USA while  MUST' Skills for a Vibrant Economy (SAVE) project sponsored the team.

Last year, MUST' Cyber Technophiles  also won a Most Creative Policy Response award of the Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge version in Washington DC, America.
