LL Health Office Fails to Conduct Further COVID-19 Tests in Kaliyeka

The Lilongwe District Health Office says for the past two days, it has failed to conduct further tests from Kaliyeka in Lilongwe where 10 people recently tested positive to COVID-19 due to hostile environment that was in the area, a development which is posing a big threat for spread of the disease in the area and Lilongwe at large.

Speaking at a stakeholders meeting that brought together officials from Lilongwe City Council, Lilongwe District Council, Police and the Malawi Defence Force, the Lilongwe DHO Dr. Alinafe Tambala says the hostility is due to what others have been writing on social media that cases in the area were fake.

Meanwhile, the stakeholders have resolved the matter and the Lilongwe District Health Office says it will soon proceed to collect samples and conduct tests from contacts of COVID19 patients in Kaliyeka.
