Tambala Queens and Stewards from the Malawi Congress Party, travelled to Neno Monday to donate clothes and blankets to orphans and the elderly.

This, they did, as the cold season sets in as a measure to help them stay warm.

Jonathan Chipojora of LORI FAYAS Children's Home thanked the Queen's for the donation, saying it would go a long way in assisting the recipients stay warm.

“We didn't expect such a donation for these 127 orphans under our roof. It is a campaign period, but we hope this has come out of  good will,” said Chipojora.

One elderly woman, Gladys Tchale, who received a blanket said the donation will remind her of the MCP and Tonse alliance come the voting day.

She says as an elderly woman, she will pay back the honor that the MCP has given her especially during this cold season when their bodies need more warmth.

Malawi is going to a fresh president election following a February 3, 2020 constitutional court nullification of the May 2019 presidential election.

The court ordered the fresh election held within 150 days from the day of the ruling.
