SME’s Decry Prolonged Processes to Access NEEF Loans

The National Economic Empowerment Fund NEEF officials say about 57 thousand Malawians have had access to loans in excess of 16 billion kwacha from the time the institution rebranded in September last year to date against a demand requiring not less than 50 billion a year.

NEEF Board Chairperson Jephta Mtema said during an interface with some small and medium entrepreneurs in Lilongwe organized to help them understand processes required to access the NEEF loans.

Some of the SMEs decried the protracted process required to access the loans which they say is frustrating and foiling their efforts to complement the government’s dream of creating jobs.
