MNCS Dissolves AAM Executive Committee

The Malawi National Council of Sports has dissolved Athletics Association of Malawi’s Executive Committee for failing to finalise amendments to the constitution and hold elections.

The mandate of the committee, led by Godfrey Phiri, expired last year and was given three months to finalise processes for the amendment of the constitution and conduct fresh elections following a spate of internal wrangles.

The council’s Spokesperson, Edgar Ntulumbwa, says a caretaker committee has been instituted to be running athletics affairs and oversee a proper transition.
