Africa Bitcoin Community Hub (ABCH) has asked countries and businesses to adopt new finance technologies which will assist to transform economies and businesses while also addressing the needs of the communities’ especially young people.

Speaking to Zodiak ahead of the Africa Bitcoin Conference slated for 2–5 December 2026 in Blantyre, Programmes Director Prince Akpah said the conference will provide a platform for exploring how Bitcoin can contribute to financial inclusion across the continent.

“Bitcoin, we have it as technology and also as a currency; as a technology is something that was created in 2009; it was created in the forefront of the financial crisis in 2008 where financial institutions lost money.

“And today as a currency, it has amassed a value of about $81, 000 Dollars, so as a currency people are using it the same way people are using Kwacha or US dollar,” said Akpah.

He added it is encouraging that Bitcoin is presenting a finance technology that people are using to achieve economic growth, promising to do more to support Malawian youth to be innovative and achieve self-reliance.

He said apart from the conference, ABCH is also into various initiatives and provides education to young people in Africa and beyond.

“We have initiatives like Bitcoin and Artificial Intelligence skills acceleration initiative, Africa Bitcoin Day and fellowship initiatives.

“We want people to understand the power of Bitcoin, the future of finance is changing, we present finance technology that people are adopting to transform their businesses,” he said.

ABCH authorities further stated that the organization remains steadfast to spearheading Bitcoin advocacy education across Africa.
