Police Arrest Four Suspected Cattle Rustlers in Dowa District

Four people have been arrested in Dowa for allegedly attempting to steal cattle in the district.
Spokesperson for the police in Dowa, Gladson M'bumpha, told Zodiak Online that the four, all men, were arrested at Chezi, a trade iin the district. 
 
"We arrested the four men at Chezi trading centre when we mounted an adhoc roadblock," he said disclosing that the suspects had, immediately their mission was foiled, fled using a get-away motor vehicle.
 
M'bumpha told Zodiak Online that the suspects were found with six nylon ropes, pieces of meat and a chemical poison (tarmec) which they apparently sought to use in their alleged unlawful operation. 
 
"The suspects have been identified as Panganani Khonje aged 41, Joseph Chakwawa aged 31, Luka Sambani aged 26 and Howis Malwe, 23, " M'bumpha said.
 
The the suspects will appear in court soon to answer charges of attempting to steal cattle. Meanwhile, police have detained the motor vehicle.
 
Dowa district has lately become notorious for incidences of mob justice where villagers have, on their own, made arrests and killed two suspected cattle rustlers.
 
There have not been any arrests  in both the cases of mob justice.
