He said, elements to do with Human Health and Climate change have not been included in the discussions in the ministry of health and civil society which makes institutions work differently.
N'goma said, there are no clear linkages in terms of research currently between climate change and human health on a number of diseases.
He said:"There are no clear linkages between Human Health and Climate change in the country due to lack of proper national planning policy on matters to do with climate change "
Meanwhile, Human Health and Climate Change desk officer in the ministry of Health, Hendriks Mgodie said there is a need for CSOs, academia and research institutions to work together with local communities in order to develop specific needs of the community in terms of impacts of climate change.
"It is important for these CSOs and research institutions to reach out to the communities to find out how climate change is negatively impacting on Human health talk of floods, droughts and unhygienic conditions " Mgodie said.
World Health organisation in collaboration with the ministry of health is implementing the Human Health and Climate change projects that serve to mobilize stakeholders to implement the framework for climate services at different levels in order to improve cooperation , capacity and use of accurate climate services in the country.
