Action Against Impunity (API) claims there is undesirable levels of executive arrogance in how President Lazarus Chakwera is handling socioeconomic challenges affecting Malawians.

Leader of the grouping Sylvester Namiwa has since announced another set of demonstrations on 18th August, dubbed 'Chakwera Alandire Chikalata.’

According to Namiwa the demonstrations are aimed at forcing President Chakwera to fulfill his campaign promises, reduce presidential powers and reduce prices of basic commodities, such as bread and sugar.

"We believe the responsible office bearers do not deliver our petitions to the President which is so worrisome to the principles of democracy,'' Namiwa alleged.

According to Namiwa, they will deliver their petition at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe; at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre, Zomba State Lodge in Zomba, Chikoko Bay in Mangochi and Mzuzu State Lodge in Mzuzu.
