MUST Student Died Due to Blood Loss - Postmortem
A postmortem conducted at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHES) in Blantyre has revealed that a Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) student, Michael Mapanje died of severe loss of blood (haemorrhages) due to head injuries following a fall from upstairs on campus.
Thyolo Police deputy spokesperson, Rabecca Kashoti says Mapanje, 32, who was allegedly drunk, accidentally fell down this Saturday while trying to step down to the ground floor during a social weekend party.
"The postmortem shows severe haemorrhages due to head injuries following a fall second floor of the buildings at the institution," she said.
The second year Social Science in Disasters Management student died on Sunday at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.
He came from Mvumu village, Traditional Authority Mukumpha in Rumphi district.
