Thyolo police station traffic officer, Tinerson Tsamikuta said the accident happened on Sunday evening near Misewufolo, along Bingu-Goliati road.

Tsamikuta said a motorcyclist, Bright Malara who carried chief Chimaliro as a passenger from Thyolo boma crashed with the Peter’s motorcycle on his way from Goliati side.

"The senior chief who did not put on a helmet sustained a head injury following the impact. Unfortunately, Peter has died on Monday," he said.

The district council's director of administration, Elestina M'mame told Zodiak Online on Tuesday that senior chief Chimaliro's condition is improving at Queen Elizabeth Central hospital after he sustained a head injury.
