OPPA Casts Doubt on Removal Of VAT on Cooking Oil

The Oilseeds Producers and Processors Association (OPPA) has cast doubt on whether the removal of Value Added Tax (VAT) on cooking oil in the country will directly influence the downward reduction of cooking oil in the country.

President of the Association Peter Ngoma told us there are many other factors that influence the price indicating the removal of VAT will have a meager effect.

Meanwhile, the Consumers Association of Malawi (CAMA) has advised the only way Malawi can achieve low cooking oil prices is by manufacturing cooking locally.
