Police Launch Manhunt in Connection With Murder Of Game Ranger

Chikwawa police have launched a manhunt for unknown criminals suspected of being poachers in the murder of a game ranger.

Bendius Amasi, 31, a game ranger for Majete Game Reserve, was murdered on October 20, 2022, by a suspected gang of poachers.

Amasi and his colleagues were patrolling in the Chandeta area of the game reserve at the time when he was killed.

Chikwawa Police detectives transported Amasi's body to Chikwawa District Hospital for an autopsy.

Postmortem examinations revealed that death was caused by excessive blood loss from deep stab wounds.

Meanwhile, a manhunt for the perpetrators is underway, and if they are apprehended, they will face murder charges.

As a result, police are appealing to anyone with information that could lead to their arrest to come forward.
