Tractors Case Pushed to January 2020

The Lilongwe High Court has pushed to January 6 next year, hearing of the case on the controversial sale of public tractors.

The matter, popularly referred to as tractor-gate, involves principal secretaries of Agriculture and Finance.

The two principal secretaries will on 6th January take plea on charges of contempt of court.

Lawyer representing the two principal secretaries, Chancy Gondwe, says after plea, the matter will go into cross-examination when the court next sits.

The court rejected the argument that the two be tried as offices and not individuals hence the direction the matter has taken.
