Fugitive Convict, Murder Suspect Re-Arrested

In Nkhata Bay, police have re-arrested a fugitive convict who is also a murder suspect but has been on the run for close to two months.

Holland Banda, aged 26, is suspected of involvement in the murder of his grandmother.

Banda is also accused of escaping from Nkhata Bay Prison where he was doing time for another offence.

Nkhata Bay police spokesperson, Sergeant Kondwani James, told Zodiak Online the re-arrest on 5th January this year follows a tip from the public.

After bolting from prison, Banda is said to have returned to his village where he also disappeared shortly after following which his 55-year-old grandmother, Edda Kaunda, was discovered dead.
