Husband Kills Wife Over Green Maize

A husband in Dowa is at large after he allegedly killed his wife for selling the family's green maize without her husband's knowledge.
Dowa police publicist Sub-inspector Gladson M'bumpha has told Zodiak Online that the husband, Josam Kapusa, of Chauma village used a carpenter's hammer to strike the wife, Catherine Solomon aged 35 of Lufeyo village dead last week. "The husband, Josam Kapusa, used a carpenter's hammer to kill the wife and villagers found her in a pool of blood on a Wednesday morning last week with the hammer stuck in her head," M'bumpha said. Our source in Lufeyo village, Bertha Phiri alleges that there was a disagreement between the two when she sold green maize which prompted the husband to go back to his village from Lilongwe . "The wife reported to her husband that the green maize was ready and that it was being stolen and when the husband came back from Lilongwe where he went to do piece work, he struck the wife dead with a carpenter's hammer" she said. Sub-inspector M'bumpha has told Zodiak online that police have mounted a hunt on the suspect. Meanwhile, Traditional Authority Chiwere has pledged a reward to any of his chiefs who may know the whereabouts of the suspect.
