This is according to Minister of Lands Kezzie Msukwa who was speaking when he visited Salima district council together with his deputy Abida Mia.

Msukwa has however warned to take to book all those found in illegal sale of land regardless of their political affiliation to ensure there is sanity.

"It is really disheartening that when you find that everywhere in the country there are issues to do with illegal sale of land and this is bad, that is why we want councilors to be checking those at Secretariat so that we deal away with this behavior," Said Msukwa.

According to the minister, some people are into land selling business which is not supposed to be the case as in most cases such people sell the land to none Malawi nationals.

Meanwhile, Senior chief Maganga of Salima however suggests seriousness in the implementation of the land laws would also help curb the malpractice.

"On our part as traditional leaders we are trying to ensure land is protected but there is need to work towards creating massive community awareness to the new land laws," Maganga said.

Salima is one of the districts with a lot of serious illegal land sale issues.
