LL Referendum Demos Called Off
Organisers of Wednesday's planned demonstrations have announced cancellation of the protests citing logistical challenges.
One of the organisers Levi Luwemba, has confirmed the development to Zodiak Online saying they will still hold Tonse Alliance accountable for failing to fulfil it's campaign promises.
"We will continue to push for the referendum agenda and holding the Tonse administration accountable on different national issues," Luwemba said.
Luwemba also claims that there public address system was attacked by unknown people hence calling off the protests.
"We are concerned that some ill minded people tried to disturb our planned demonstrations which is worrying to our multiparty democracy," Luwemba added.
Prior to the cancellation, Police officers and Malawi Defense force soldiers flocked at the starting point for the protests at Wakawaka market.
Prior to the scheduled time, the Lilongwe high court served some of the lead organizers Ben Longwe, Kingsley Mpaso, Ida Mazinga and others from participating in the protests.
