Bright Sibale, chairperson of the ‘Buy A Coaster Taskforce’ committee told Zodiak Meadi today his club was thankful to the Good Samaritans who have done this in an effort to improve football in the country.
The 32-seater Chitipa United Football Club bus has finally been cleared following intervention made by three politicians of good will.
Bright Sibale, chairperson of the ‘Buy A Coaster Taskforce’ committee, which was mandated to procure the bus, has expressed excitement at the development.
“The Malawi Revenue Authority cleared the bus on Wednesday after the three officials lived up to their pledge,” said Sibale.
Apart from accommodation and paying player’s perks, mobility was another setback on for the club more especially when fulfilling away assignments.
The bus was purchased for 6.5 million Kwacha and the total duty-fee was also 6.5 million Kwacha.
According to Sibale, the bus will help the club reduce expenditure incurred during away assignments.
“It will also motivate the players to give their best in making certain the team stays in the top flight league,” he said.
The good Samariatans are Jappie Mhango, Symon Vuwa Kaunda and businessman Leston Mulli.
