Bharti Airtel's digital solutions arm Xtelify has launched an advanced AI platform in a landmark partnership with Airtel Africa, marking one of the largest deployments of Indian-developed telecom AI solutions across African markets.
The multi-million dollar agreement will see Xtelify's technology implemented across Airtel Africa's 14 operations.
The platform integrates three core systems: the Xtelify Data Engine for processing over 50 billion daily data points, Xtelify Work for field operations automation, and Xtelify IQ for omnichannel customer engagement.
Initial deployments will target measurable improvements including an 18-22% reduction in customer churn and 40% decrease in spam incidents.
"Where traditional solutions address silos, we're delivering neural network-like connectivity across the entire telecom value chain," said Binod Srivastava, Chief Business Officer at Bharti Airtel. "This is telecom AI that learns and evolves with each interaction."
Jacques Barkhuizen, Group CIO of Airtel Africa, highlighted the strategic importance: "We're not just implementing software – we're institutionalizing Airtel's decade of Indian digital experience across our African markets.
The platform's fraud prevention capabilities alone could save millions in annual revenue leakage."
The rollout comes as African telecom operators are projected to invest $2.1 billion in AI solutions by 2026. Xtelify's architecture, already proven at Airtel India's scale of 350+ million subscribers, offers unique pre-validated reliability for the pan-African implementation.
First-phase deployment begins Q1 2024 across Airtel Africa's operations, with full implementation expected within 18 months. Xtelify is currently in advanced negotiations with two additional Tier-1 operators in Southeast Asia and Latin America.
