New NEEF Board Gears Up for Revival

The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) has pledged to revive its operations following the alleged financial mismanagement by previous leadership.

NEEF board chairperson James Naphambo made the sentiments after being sworn in alongside the entire board members.

He added that they will also focus on aligning the institution's objectives with the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) manifesto to avoid poor governance decisions that marred the organisation during the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) regime.

"We are committed as a new board to ensure that there is sanity at NEEF and we are now tracing all the loan defaulters," he added.

Recently, NEEF reported massive unpaid loans totaling over to K219 billion as of early 2026.
