Lawyers have finished examining UTM President Saulos Chilima who is first petitioner in the ongoing elections case and have started cross examining second witness, Miriam Gwalidi.

Chilima Enters Re-examination

Lawyers for first petitioner in the ongoing presidential elections case, Saulos Klaus Chilima, have started re-examining their client after lawyers for first and second respondents, Peter Mutharika and Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) respectively, finished cross examination on Tuesday at the Constitutional Court siting in Lilongwe.

Judge Healey Potani has decried persistent interjections of the elections case hearing on Monday, asking concerned parties to be innovative in their cross-examination arrangements for progress of the case.

Elections Case Trial Begins

The Constitution Court sitting at the high court in Lilongwe has started trial of an electoral case where President of Malawi Congress Party, Lazarus Chakwera and his UTM counterpart, Saulos Chilima, want the court to nullify the May 21 elections.
