Lightening has on Monday evening killed two people including a 12-year-old boy who was in standard six at Kainjilira village in the area of Senior Chief Dambe in Neno District. 

Neno District Council Disaster Risk Management officer Brighton Mphinga has confirmed the development to Zodiak Online saying several houses have also be damaged by heavy rains coupled with strong winds.

Mphinga has identified the deceased as 12-year -old Ndalakwanji Kayenda and a 30-year-old Marita Kayenda who has left behind two children.

Last month, a man was also killed under similar circumstances in the same area of Senior Chief Dambe.
