Women in Government Donate to Thyolo Hospital Ahead of Mother’s Day

In a pre-Mother’s Day gesture, a group of women working in government departments at Thyolo District Council has donated various items worth K500,000 to Thyolo District Hospital.

Speaking after the donation on Friday, the group’s chairperson, Gloria Chisanga, said the initiative was aimed at encouraging patients and easing some of the challenges faced at the facility.

“It is everyone’s responsibility to support and encourage patients at the hospital, who often face many different needs. We also appeal to other groups and organizations to take part in addressing the hospital’s challenges,” said Chisanga.

On her part, Thyolo District Hospital’s Chief Nurse, Janet Wister Mhango, commended the women for their contribution, describing the gesture as timely and inspiring.

“We are very grateful for this donation. It will go a long way in supporting patients, and we encourage others to emulate this example,” said Mhango.

The donation forms part of ongoing efforts to help the underprivileged, according to Chisanga.
