The Thyolo District Council has confirmed the tragic death of Councillor Elisha Joel Milanzi of Muonekera Ward, who died on Tuesday in a road accident.

Milanzi was travelling back home after attending a council meeting when the accident occurred. The Council has described his death as a major loss to the district.

Thyolo District Commissioner, Hudson Kuphanga, said Milanzi’s passing has left a deep void in local leadership.

“Councillor Milanzi was a dedicated and hardworking representative who served the people of Muonekera Ward with passion and commitment. His death is not only a loss to the Council but to the entire district,” said Kuphanga.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time.”

According to the family, burial will take place today, Wednesday, 3rd December, at Kamoto Village, under Sub-Traditional Authority Kamoto.
