A six-day leadership conference that begun on September 27th for atleast 60 Catholic women leaders has ended in Kenya with a call for unity, resilience and integrity among them.
The conference, for participants from 18 countries including Malawi, focused on equipping the women with leadership skills in driving socio-economic and spiritual transformation.
The conference also provided networking and experience sharing among the women from different backgrounds. They learnt new ways of working with stakeholders, leadership, and resource mobilization.
Participants were grilled on importance of integrity, self-awareness, empathy, humility, and resilience in leadership.
Sr. Teresa Mulenga of Teresian Sisters congregation in Malawi says; "We commit to partner with other stakeholders in the fight against GBV and will remain the voice of the voiceless through storytelling and engagement in policy making and networking."
Sr. Mulenga was in Kenya alongside Christina Lakioni, national chairlady of Catholic Women Association in Malawi.
Sr. Teresa coordinates projects in her congregation aimed at empowering women while Lakioni is Chairlady of Catholic Women Association (CWA) in Malawi.
