The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) says all is in place to administer the 2025 national examinations to 626, 192 candidates from 21st May to 25th July 2025.
Public Relations Manager for the board, Angella Kashitigu indicated on Thursday that security will be tight as they will continue to work with Malawi Defence Force (MDF) and the police to undertake their mutually agreed roles to secure all examinations storage facilities.
"All is set to administer the examinations this years. In the next few days, we will engage invigirators including running the examinations administration trial to ensure that the process runs smoothly," Kashitigu assured.
Meanwhile, Link for Education Governance executive director, Dr. Limbani Nsapato has emphasized the need to put necessary measures that will guarantee zero examination leakage.
"We need to commend the board for the preparations, but we are urging MANEB to ensure zero examination leakage, timely payment of the invigirators and release of the results," he said.
MANEB figures show that 257, 129 candidates will sit for Primary School Leaving Certificate (PSLCE) 166, 123 for Junior Certificate of Examinations (JCE) while MSCE has 202, 940 candidates.
This year, similar to 2023 and, 2024, more female candidates have registered to sit for PSLCE and JCE examinations than male candidates.
According to the examination body, the trend has also been the same for MSCE where more male candidates register and sit for the examinations as compared to female candidates.
Compared to 2024, there has been an increase in the total number of candidates registered to sit for
examination with over a 2 percent increase.
