About 500 members of Chipuka Cooperative in Traditional Authority Kalumo, Ntchisi, are seeking explanations from their leadership regarding a vehicle donated by the Agriculture Commercialization (AGCOM) Project last year.
The vehicle was intended for transporting farm produce to markets.
Village Headman Chikhungwa, a cooperative member, expressed concerns: "We need to know where our vehicle is... We've been asking, but they don't give us a tangible response."
Members suspect the vehicle's sale due to delays in handing it over.
Chairperson Natalie Dickson countered, "The vehicle's at Kandanda Village. Members just need to ask." Agriculture authorities distanced themselves, citing direct donations to cooperatives.
AGCOM's Public Relations Officer, Mark Ndipita, promised investigation, but requires time since the cooperative is no longer under AGCOM's management.
Chipuka Cooperative grows maize, soybeans, cassava and more.
