Ansah Pledges Solutions to Hunger, Fuel Shortages and Forex Woes

Ansa: We are ready to serve Malawians again

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) runningmate, Dr. Jane Ansah, says they are ready to tackle Malawi’s persistent challenges such as hunger, fuel shortages, and foreign exchange scarcity if voted into power.

Speaking at Mapanga in Mulanje today, Dr. Ansah said former president Professor Peter Mutharika has the experience and capability to resolve the issues, even in times of crises such as droughts.

“If we win the elections, ADMARC and national grain reserves will always have at least 150,000 tonnes of maize,” she assured.

She made the remarks during the launch of campaign promises for Dr. George Chaponda, the party’s former leader of opposition in parliament.

DPP youth director Norman Chisale commended the Malawi Police Service for what he described as “tight security” provided wherever Dr. Ansah is holding rallies.

“We appreciate the professionalism of the police, including during our events in Nsanje and Chikwawa,” he said.

In his address, Dr. Chaponda said he is seeking a return to parliament after serving for 20 years, with a goal to continue spearheading development in the constituency.

“I want to keep delivering for my people — building houses, ending hunger, and bringing other key developments,” Chaponda said.
